What type of blinds can I have in a skylight window?

We recommend Duette® blinds or pleated blinds for skylight windows. These blinds are ideal for combating heat gain, help to reduce glare and can have light filtering properties too.

Do skylight blinds keep heat in?

Choose pleated blinds with a specialist coating or Duette® blinds and you'll find not only can they reduce heat and offer uv protection in summer but also help combat heat loss in winter too.

Do skylight blinds fit VELUX® windows?

Because our blinds are made to measure, we can craft a range of blinds for all types of windows. During your in-home appointment, our design consultants can see your windows and discuss any challenges you may have and together you'll create the vision for your skylight blinds.

What’s the difference between a skylight and a roof lantern?

A roof lantern is fitted to a flat roof and projects above the roof, usually in the shape of a pyramid or dome, to let light ingress from all angles. A skylight is a single glass panel fitted to a sloping roof.

How do blinds work in a roof lantern window?

Usually blinds are fitted within side channels for extra support and have visible support wires feeding through the blinds to help them retract and extend. Roof lantern blinds are smart electric control only.
